A informação foi divulgada pelo jornal “Folha de S.Paulo”, que ouviu ontem (25) o secretário municipal para a Copa e a Olimpíada 2016, Ruy César, em palestra do Metrô Rio.

“Cada cidade postulou a realização de uma parte do evento. O Rio se candidatou à realização do jogo final”, disse César, que é responsável pela preparação da cidade para os megaeventos.

Segundo o jornal, a opção da prefeitura por realizar somente a final na cidade é uma estratégia para não congestionar o trânsito do Rio durante o restante da competição. Durante o Mundial, a capital fluminense abrigará a sede da Fifa, o centro de mídia e os treinos da seleção brasileira.

Maracanã
O palco dos jogos da Copa no Rio será o Maracanã. O estádio passará por reformas orçadas em R$ 600 milhões, mas está com o cronograma atrasado em relação aos prazos da Fifa.

O projeto do estádio foi alterado diversas vezes devido a indefinições do governo fluminense. Isso atrasou a licitação para o início das obras, cujo lançamento está indefinido. Complica mais a situação do Rio frente à Fifa a decisão da Secretaria do Esporte de interditar o Maracanã somente depois do Campeonato Estadual, em 2 de maio, ou em agosto caso o Flamengo chegue à final da Libertadores da América.

O Maracanã ficará em obras ao menos até dezembro de 2012. Enquanto isso, será substituído pelo Engenhão, que apresenta cerca de 30 problemas estruturais como revelado anteontem por um jornal carioca.
